It's obviously not nice, but in the terms of the internet, it's not really surprising. The people who would be hurt by it (the people who actually knew Richey) are very unlikely to ever see it. It's not the same as, for example, 4CHAN members who troll FB tribute groups for dead kids, because in that case the people involved would almost definitely see it, and be hurt by it. It's just designed to outrage Richey fans, who, lets face, can be a little pompous and precious about Richey at times. That doesn't make it okay obviously, but the point is, posting about it here just means that the people they want to see it, will.

Dunno, I've actually considered the possibility that fans have made it. I don't think the Manics are popular enough to have haters to that level.

They do seem to know an awful lot about the Manics and Richey and I don't really understand why someone who hates them would learn all that.
But then again, some people are just odd.

I think anyone this easy a target has trolls willing to capitalise.

Well that wasn't a very good sentence... anyway, there's a huge and ever-growing number of ex-fans. They once were that popular.

I definitely think they were fans at one point, they might still be fans who just want to wind up CoR types. Manics fans actually seem to be the worst when it comes to taking the piss out of the band (even when they like them), so it's hardly surprising.

As I've pointed out before, it's actually only obsessive Richey fans that I've ever seen laugh at Richey. The stereotype of what the obsessive are like just isn't true!

No, I don't think I've ever actually met a proper scary Richey fan. I've met a very scary Manics fan, but not a specifically CoR one I think maybe there were lots around the time of THB, and then there's people who became infamous, like Becky Craig, and Richey fans just got a bad reputation.

Ex-fans or just haters or whatever...
They even attacked Manics fans and are still stalking them. They are obsessive and crazy. They dont have right to attack what they dislike. Well those people are quite common on internet and might not be surprising but still I find them offensive and stupid. They are wasting time and effort doing these lamey things while they could put them on more important things.
For example, they could post a caring message for Japanese people instead of crazy words towards Manics fans just 1 hour ago on the Manics shoutbox.

That's not my experience. When I used to be a big fan people who barely knew the band would often make jokes about "the one that got away", things about him cutting words into himself etc. It happens, at least in the UK they're definitely well-known enough to be the subject of ridicule amongst people who just know a general overview of the UK music scene.

Less so now than say 1995-2000, when they were big news, but it still happens.
