I really think Nicky was joking about Glastonbury.

THB is nowhere near my favourite album, but if the band decides to do something special at a festival ahead of a gig that will be mainly made of FMFs then they're fucking sell outs.

Seriously. That would be the stupidest thing ever, and the biggest 'fuck you' to the fans. Besides, I thought some Wire was insisting that the moment they started playing full album sets, it was all over and they would have given up? And don't get me started on his festival snarks...

Damn that reserved right to contradict. IT'S HARD ENOUGH TO KNOW WHEN TO TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY AS IT IS. I haven't actually seen this yet, so I'm going to presume he was joking. Please to have been joking, Nickly. ;___;

So James stays on stage to play This Is Yesterday and we're treated to There There by Radiohead on 6 Music. Fuck's sake.

I defend the band a lot but...Glastonbury with all it's fake hippy bullshit can do one!
The greatest album ever deserves better than to be heard live by a bunch of idiots who in the most part are only there so they can show off to people who can't afford to go or missed out on tickets.
I never begrudge the Manics doing anything - festivals, shit TV etc 'cos I truly feel that's what they really are about but Glastonbury?!! Load of wank and for the first time ever I would be unhappy as a fan

As the Astoria is now gone, they should get the Brixton Academy for one night and play the whole of THB there.

In fact, they could do 11 nights in a row and do every album back to back. Now I would pay VERY VERY good money to see that

yeah because you'd rather have THB the competition gig played for 400 chosen people. Glasto is the right idea. I'm totally against playing whole THB but if it's at Glasto and they play ONLY THB, no Greatest Hits set afterwards, than I'm full in.

so many familiar faces in the audience. shame they didn't show This Is Yesterday, it's always special. the new material sounds great live, especially Anthem.

As a collective fan protest, let's build a bypass over Glastonbury.

I rather pay a super overpriced ticket to a THB gig anywhere, than a Glastonbury one

I think Nicky is thinking of their performance at Glasto in 94 and wanting to make a thing of playing THB there 20 years on. He may even make another comment about bypasses.
