Best I could find although it doesn't show what number they were placed in first. Went to click o the albums to see more details and got this. Quote:

No.3 in midweek album chart. Decent stuff as Arctic Monkeys is no.1 and Avicii no.2. Hard to beat both of them. Might drop before sunday though.

It's at 3 on 13,069 at the moment, it will get top 5 even if it tails off, remember White Lies made #2 on 7,300 or whatever it was. Did Postcards From a Young Man drop out of the top 10 in week 2, I know Journal for Plague Lovers did.
The BPI have also updated their database using all scanned sales from 1994, the upgrades are.... Lifeblood- Silver The Holy Bible- Gold Gold Against the Soul- Gold Forever Delayed (CD)- 2x platinum Forever Delayed (DVD)- Platinum Leaving the 20th Century- Gold Journal For Plague Lovers- Silver Know Your Enemy- Gold A Design For Life- Silver Everything Must Go- 3x platinum For singles, Silver is 200,000 and a Gold DVD is 25,000 making a platinum one 50,000

I'm not a fan of either band, but despite a vague similarity on the first record they have literally nothing in common with The Libertines now.

Can't believe Elton John's record is behind?? all the publicity and that live concert he did Saturday to win that award I would have thought he would have been up in the top 3.

It's not a covers album is it? Maybe people are nervous about any new direction he might have taken

He hasn't done anything to better Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, & he's lost so much of his range that he never will.

The Elton John record isn't that far behind sadly and could very well leapfrog to #3. Katie Melua's record is being advertised to death too on TV.
1 Arctic Monkeys - AM (27,638) 2 Avicii - True * (17,038) 3 Manic Street Preachers - Rewind The Film * (13,069) 4 Elton John - The Diving Board * (12,795) 5 Katie Melua - Ketevan * (8,539) I do hope MSP get #3 though as it would give them (+ Sony) confidence to take "risks" knowing they could still pull a decent chart placing (to equal PFAYM in the chart if not in sales). Maybe they will eventually become one of the label's "Prestige" artists who are never dropped despite up / down sales as they make the label look classy (Dylan, Cohen, Mitchell, Waits, etc.) I'm continually baffled by the Arctic Monkeys' success. Are they the new generic 'pub+terraces' band for blokes to pretend to like knowing their mates won't take the p!ss out of them (see also Oasis, Kasabian, Miles Kane, StereoFckinphonics)? |

Didn't they sign a new one just before Postcards? Can't remember how long it is though.

How is it possible that the dirge that is arctic monkey's have over twice as many sales?
This is why I stopped listening to the radio. OK, it's not, I can't be arsed that's why, but COME ON!
