Was that when Ian Brown supported? I was there. Loads of pricks also attended Once MSP came on it was a great night

Yes, Llandudno this year was dreadful but the worse for me was Kettering in I think it was 1998. Fucking awful, just terrible. Nicky didn't look up once, had his back to the crowd and I think he just crouched down on the floor for most of it. If I remember, they played SYMM, and I had to go over the barrier towards the end from getting crushed. Plus, that was back when we could only due 1 gig per tour cos of being at school and having no money. AWFUL.

Birmingham 2007. James was sick, sound was horrible, crowd was full of drunk idiots... Shame it was the only gig I heard Indian Summer, Masses and 1985 live. And one more thing - those two clowns on the left side of podium were very loud as always. I though I threw something on Reed when the only thing I could hear was his tamburine (in S'nB)

Ah that one. Yes I was there too - the LB tour. Ian Brown was on the FD tour. Good memories of that gig - I probably would have done that too had my Mum not by chance heard on the radio it was getting cancelled. I remember thinking she was joking - was gutted whenI realised she wasn't!!

Anyway back on topic - I've not really been disappointed at a MSP gig. Only by shit support. But you forget about that once MSP get on. Either that or you hit the bar!!!!

Only other complaints are those bloody setlists...

That was another half empty gig, those Arena's are too big for them now, Wolves Civic is much more suited

I enjoyed Brum '07 anyway. The drunks didn't bother me during the gig thankfully or I might have thumped someone! First time hearing 1985 live too! Woo!

1. Llandudno - 26.05.2009
2. Cardiff - 21.12.1998
3. Brixton - 08.12.2002
4. Shepherd Bush - 31.05.2007
5. Southampton - 05.06.2007
6. Manchester - 05.12.2007
7. Oxegen - 12.07.2008
8. Oxegen - 12.07.2009 (proving only a fool makes the same mistake twice)
9. Liverpool - 09.04.2005
10. Cardiff - 08.03.2001

The top one as it was painful to watch, generally horrible and I still don't really understand why they kept on going.

The bottom one I pretty much just have myself to blame for, had lectures, couldn't queue was in the middle of the crowd, felt removed and confused - they are also in part to blame for playing The Year of Purification.

Middle ones they were just boring.

I have enjoyed every one, but Brixton the least, as it was such a shit venue, thankfiully they have changed it sliightly.

Oh and Roundhouse, 3 days of circular squishness, atleast in a squarer venue you have a little room!

Reading Rivermead 1997 for me, it was what seemed to be about the 30th tour promoting EMG and although it was ok, it was a tour too far. We'd travelled all the way down from Nottingham for it as well. It was the only time I'd thought they were going through the motions a little. I remember James saying he remembers watching a gig back (maybe from the TIMT tour) and saying he was 'acting singing'....well, this was a bit like that. Not bad, but just a bit flat.

The "least good" I've seen was Norwich on the first SATT tour. They were pretty tired I think as they had done two gigs in a row and a full day's recording beforehand. I'd be interested to know what they were like in Nottingham the night after?
