5 out of 9 Manics albums did not have a title track.

The rumoured album title is ok. Don't love it. But then how many of their album titles are actually great?

I don't really care about the album title, as long as the music's good, I'm happy.

I love all of their album titles. I'm probably just biased mind!

The title track is generally good if the music on the album is good, imagine how lame THB would have been if it was just full of crap, the title would sound naff and phoney

The working title is incredibly ridiculous, I don't like it nor do I agree with what it says. "It's Not War, Just The End Of Love".
the end of love? Why would anyone say something like that?? Or even think it *shrugs* maybe I don't understand it correctly I don't know, if it was up to me the manics would be still making albums as eloquent and superb as TIMTTMY (I'm shocking I know). There are only so many times you can retread a punk rock riff (I told you I was shocking). I really hope it's not as naff as this working title suggests. *concern, writes a draft letter* |

I learned not to judge an album or tracks on the title.
Example: Know your Enemy is a great title. Peeled Apples is one of the most stupid titles ever.

Frankly the title 'Goodbye Suicide' is rather pathetic, but they managed to change it to Lifeblood, which as titles go, is rather good. I can only assume they will do something similar. Perhaps the new title is a quote of something, which will explain the choice, perhaps since the title artistically fits in with the album as a whole. Send Away The Tigers as a title sounded a bit dodgy, but in context worked really well for the album. I am at least optimistic they will change it, or else keep it if there is a good reason.

I think Peeled Apples is an amazing title. It gives contrasting impressions of the mundane and surreal. It isn't cheesy in any way either like many pop/rock song titles. It obviously has symbolism in terms of anorexia and Richey's liking for surviving on apples, as well as stripping the skin / protective coating of something or someone to reveal what is underneath. It was the title I was most excited by when the details were released.

I remembe Lifeblood getting a pilloring but once you heard the album it actually fits, I would say Generation Terrorists is in the same mould really.
The one that has never fitted for me is Send Away The Tigers, as it invokes darkness in my mind but the album wasn't really that dark just occasionally reflective. Mind you I like books that give nothing away in the title.

I like the title. Seriously. And I want them to come to Switzerland for a proper gig, not just a mediocre Greatest Hits festival performance!
