And just because I questioned whether they really were '4 real' in what they were doing at the time Richey made that statement, you shouldn't take that to mean I don't like Motown Junk or You Love Us. Steve Lamacq likes them too!

The Manics are a great band, just also a very shit band at the same time /same criticism I seem to level at most of my favourite bands.

Ah God, sorry in my rush posting I forgot to comment on your pic!
I don't like that pic of Richey, sums up a lot of what I hate about the Manics, that being saiiiiidddd it's a fantastic painting, absolutely mindblowing and whilst I have little (read as 'no') idea of pricing artwork I'd say if someone liked that pic it'd be superb. Great work!

sweetjayne- I think it's a great painting of an iconic photo (some say over used, true-but isn't that what iconic means). Large-scale works are hard to do and you have captured the look well while adding a little bit of the details that were lost in the high contrast photo. You don't need me to tell you that you're talented, but you are. I could easily see this in a recording studio or other public place. Good luck with the sale. I liked your other paintings as well.
