Nicky himself. There was an interview on 6 Music yesterday.

He also sings on The Left Behind, and Liverpool Revisited is about the spirit of the Hillsborough families and a sort of happy sequel to SYMM.

There may have been some other info about the album but nothing interesting enough for me to remember it.

The boys interview on 6 Music yesterday, James' story about that small launch gig for PFAYM album made me smile, I guess that's the gig that was filmed and was used mostly for the music video for the single too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLlR2YkS81Q

I vaguely remember there being some mistakes on the live broadcast. I don't remember the fans being offered any tickets... was there a tiny sale?

I'm happy to hear that's what LR is about - I had a horrible feeling it might be some nauseating Lennon/Beatles tribute.

I hope Nick gets to play the guitar solo live. I remember seeing him play the 30 Year War bass solo a couple of times - the *concentration*...

Sadly not. James doesn’t like The Beatles (I’ve never understood this, as he’s such a music fan)

Thus far, their nods to The Beatles consist of “I’m as tired as John Lennon sang”, a grinding cover of Working Class Hero and the line “I laughed when Lennon got shot”

Yeah, it is sad that James makes his own mind up about what music he likes rather than just liking what everyone else does.

Didn’t he say he finally ‘got’ them around the time of PFAYM?

Either way looking forward to hearing Liverpool Revisited - the Manics have consisitently been supportive of the Justice for the 96 campaign.

I’m Leaving You For Solitude is a bit Hey Jude.

And there was that time James interviewed Paul McCartney... without checking the video I’m sure he must have nodded towards a Beatle in that at some point, literally.

Also Postcards From A Young Man’s chorus sounds a bit like the Ringo Starr-featuring Thomas the Tank Engine IMHO (ok, tenuous one that, I will admit).

James wanted to have something on the album like ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’ by Elton John and Kiki Dee

They supported McCartney too. There is a weird photo where Sir Paul can be seen stateside, watching The Manics.

It's in the Manics manifesto - don't like The Beatles (or at least don't admit to it)

I always thought Buildings for dead People always had a bit of a Lennon ring to the vocal, but perhaps that's just me.

Well, it is Revolution-inspired!
