I managed to get a refund of half the boxset a few months ago because one of my discs was cracked.

Relieved to see it wasn't me being a fat handed twat and that it was actually the packaging that was crap.

Awesome.

Will do the same myself later, see if I can't get a replacement DVD or something. Also need to get the other CDs in plastic wallets while they are still useable.

I, as I'm sure many by the sounds, would be curious if they do anything? Be great to hear of the follow up once you send the picture.

I just looked at my set after reading this post over the past few weeks (kept forgetting to check) .. and sure enough .. tiny fractures in the DVD. I removed all the discs as others have done and put them in paper wallets inside the box. I tried the DVD and just picked a few random samples and it seemed to play .. but I would have to sit through the whole thing to be sure... somewhat frustrating design of this set. Here's hoping THB20 is better made/packaged

Response to the photo I sent:

Quote:
Thanks for sending the photos. I am checking to see if we still have stock to send you a replacement.

If we can replace your item - which is likely -you should see a ship notification for a free replacement item within the next 3 to 5 business days.

In the unlikely event that we're out of stock and can't send a replacement we'll certainly issue an appropriate refund. We'll email you if that's the case.

Again, we're sorry you received a damaged item, and we appreciate your patience.

I emailed regarding the same issue. They didn't ask me for photos. They told me they were out of stock and unable to replace the discs. They then said I was not eligible for a refund as the order was obviously a while ago.

Instead they gave me a 45 voucher to spend in the Manivs store. So... yay! But I still have no idea what anything on CD3 sounds like!

Am I allowed to ask for somebody who owns CD3 to burn me a copy or send me the tracks? I can prove that I bought the box set via photos. Is this a grey area or a no no?

I think you can download them off iTunes (tho in obviously not-so-great quality)

Sounds like a bit of an arse up all round with the packing. I'm surprised they don't knock off a few extra copies and offer them as replacements. And put out a warning saying not to use the CD holders.

Same.. I've even listened to the Postcards cassette so not sure what excuse I've got to have not listened to the vinyl from this yet.

Just noticed that on iTunes Starlover has been ripped as Startover. Silly iTunes.
