Yeah, probably wants to keep it seperate to avoid media speculation etc.

It's so sad when she talks about having to write a letter explaining why the family thinks Richey is dead in order to get him declared officially dead. How hard must that be to write when you kind of have to block out the side of your brain that holds on to the hope of him returning.

Yeah, I agree with you. It must have been heartbreaking for her and her family. I mean trying to write down why they think that he will never come back home when they still have that tiny hope that he will appear in your doorstep one day.

I have a very soft spot for the Edwards family and not only because of Richey. It is because they seem so kind hearted and gentle people.

Rachel is a very brave person and I'm sure that she will find out what happened to her sweet brother.

Thanks for posting this, a very touching interview with Rachel. It always makes me think whenever James or Nick mention how difficult his disappearance has been for Richey's family but to hear that it really hits home. She sounds like she's got a lot of strength and she and Graham and Sherry must have been through hell over the past 15 years. You can only hope that someday they can put this to rest.

Good interview, dignified lady.

Did anyone else notice / be amused by the surname of the poet featured on the same programme?!!

How about the as yet unmentioned option: None of the above.

Thanks for that. Rachel always comes across as so dignified and intelligent. She's right about the level of pressure Richey must have been under from obsessive fans who hero-worshipped his problems, too. I doubt they did it necessarily maliciously, but it can't have helped. The level of composure that Rachel keeps in every interview she gives is amazing, though, particularly given the massive amount of emotion involved.

I've added the interview with Rachel to my web site, if anyone still hasn't heard it, or wants to download it. It's in the "Sounds" section.
