30 quid? good joke.

I'm looking forward to hear it, I remember NYPC post on twitter some time ago and it made me impatient.

MSP Remix New Young Pony Club

'Chaos', out February 22, is the first single proper to come from the New Young Pony Club's upcoming album, 'The Optimist' – a self produced, self funded and self released album that comes out March 1.

The post punk band gave away a teaser single for free download, 'Lost A Girl', back in December of last year – which is still available here. That track re-claimed the troupe's nu-rave star status and injected a little dance punk into the ever-increasing folk-like pop mix. Airwaves lapped it up and, with the new album in sight, it seems another shot of New Young Pony Club 'Chaos' could be imminent.

'Chaos', their first single proper, comes fully laden with remixes from Melι, Rory Philips and Dekker & Johan. The promo version also, interestingly, features the South Wales Swamp Mix (courtesy of the Manic Street Preachers) - available exclusively on the iTunes version of the album.

The five piece, London-based, band shot to fame back in 2007 with their fusion of post punk and new wave laced over a dance rock undertone. Their debut album, 'Fantastic Playroom' was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize that year, and it continues to generate interest. Since then, though, NYPC have toured extensively, supporting Lilly Allen and performing alongside CSS, The Sunshine Underground and Klaxons during the NME Indie Rave Tour. And will go on to headline the NME Awards Show this year (2010) at The Islington Academy, February 22.

New Young Pony Club head out on their own tour in March:

Mon 15th Portsmouth, Wedgewood Rooms
Tues 16th Birmingham, Academy 2
Wed 17th Bristol, The Thekla
Thur 18th Oxford, Academy 2
Sat 20th Manchester, Moho Live
Sun 21st Leeds, Cockpit 2
Mon 22th Nottingham, Stealth
Tues 23rd Glasgow, King Tuts
Thur 25th Newcastle, Academy 2
Fri 26th Liverpool, Korova
Sat 27th Cambridge, Junction 2

interesting that it's a remix by the whole band, I wonder what it will sound like? Possibly just them covering the track? Either way, it's new material!

Surely it's a remix, not a cover? So it's not going to be any new material?

The thing is, I can't really picture MSP just remixing a song. I'm getting a bit carried away, sorry

ie it sounds a bit 80s, but is basically generic pop. Like everyone else.

So, aside from all that, is anyone else excited to hear what a Manics remix may sound like?

Presumably a bit like the last remix they did.

Which was what exactly?

They did a 'Version' of Massive Attack - Inertia Creeps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUlN2WScft4 which is the band jamming to the stems provided.

Hardly a 'Remix'
