I love the few videos I've seen from that gig, I think they were poor quality on youtube and not even in full but I remember it was a rip-roaring performance full of energy and force and the crowd were well loving it. WHy are crowds are festivals these days only seemingly interested in standing around until a camera gets shoved in their faces so they can wave?

Of course, should have been No 1. (Well ok maybe Navana No 1 and Manics No 2)
I am totally biased of course. Manics should always be in most memorable lists!

My English teacher in secondary school saw both Nirvana and the Manics at Reading 1992. For GCSE we were supposed to do a project analysing music videos, and everybody except me and a Nirvana-obsessed friend did Johnny Cash's Hurt because he had already talked them through it. We resisted the urge to throttle him when he took us aside to help us with our essays on You Love Us/Heart-Shaped Box, and told us he had seen both bands "loads of times" and "didn't really enjoy it"!
