I thought Mafia Monroe was a girl when he joined because of the James love, which of course he's not, so posting in appreciation doesn't necessarily mean a person is a girl.

Ha! Ha! And as Lydia says it's not just the girls who frequent in there!

He! He! I imagine it is scary in there for the uninitiated!

Agreed! In fact, with the exception of THB, everything prior to Truth was far more commercial sounding then this album. I think perhaps given it's success (largely due to the following they had achieved with EMG) some people have confused the sales of the album with a commercial sound...I don't hear it personally (with the exception of a few songs), but horses for course and all that.

I actually really love this album (Ready for Drowning is lush as is My Little Empire, but admittedly, I could do without Tsunami as well as the painfully cheese lyrics to The Everlasting). It's fairly consistently remained in my top 4 Manics albums and I've never quite understood the hate it gets from some fans. Oh well, to each their own.

I've never thought it was a particularly commercial album either. Apart from YSTS.

I agree, the first half can be taken as a form of stadium rock but the second half is anti-stadium rock. I never got why people said "TIMT is stadium rock!" in an insulting way anyway, what the feck was EMG if TIMT was stadium rock?!

A sales manager where I work mentioned Truth as being the last album he bought in the company magazine. That was yonkers ago but made me smile at the time!
