Although I wasn't the first to try and work it out, I feel no KYE thread can be without my transcription of the letters on the cover. It reminds me of the embrace of the net the band were supposed to have done for PFAYM nine years later?

Well you can't hear sarcasm on the internet can you? I thought it might have been but was just saying anyway!

Too short? Really? 16 tracks plus a bonus track....long enough for me!

Yes, it certainly would!

I love Know Your Enemy, but it'd probably work better as three or four EPs rather than one album. Lots of good ideas on the album but it seems a bit too fragmented.

The album version of So Why So Sad is a shambles but I adore the Avalanches remix. They should have put that on instead of the original.

might ramble a bit.....

i will play KYE before i play GATS, which seems to not be the general consensus on how one should see both albums.

it's an album full of mostly good songs that just doesn't sounds like an album all together, if that makes any sense?

whereas Baby Elian is one of the most precise, brilliant observational songs they've ever delivered, it sits on an album with Let Robeson Sing; a track which whilst no doubt was well intentioned sounds like one of the most forced, contrived tributes ever - to the extent that they allowed Ian Brown's clearly piss-taking remix to see light of day.

the "buzz" around the release was awesome - i mean, two singles released on the same day? who does that anymore? also, the screensaver you could get at the time with all the quotes on was ace - it kept crashing my work PC!

Found that soul for me is one of their hardest most visceral songs to date. It never fails to get the blood flowing.
