Why is being number one important? to anyone?
and postcards wouldn't have had number ones if they'd skipped KYE and lifeblood. Fact. |

These platitudes better not dissolve I want em to get airplay, I find it impossible to think of that not being a single.

no, getting rid of the good albums doesn't mean the bad one will suddenly become good by comparison.

If it's Golden Platitudes then I can only conclude that the selection process for single releases consists entirely of pulling names out of a hat.

KYE had decent chart success anyhow, PFAYM is just a single-less album in the minds of the public and a good percentage of us fans and I say this as someone who disliked SATT, but that had a good selection of singles on it which got them fans in the public again. Even JFPL got played a fair bit on the radio so it's not like the public forgot they existed. Anyhow, caring about the charts is redundant to me, a song getting number 1 doesn't make it any better.

I don't mind it as a song but it's mindboggling if anyone considers it a singles oppertunity.

Don't see why GP couldn't make it as a single.

Definitely! As I've said in another thread somewhere it has the same impact on me as Radioheads Fake Plastic Trees (without saying they sound similar or anything!).
