Seeking The Room With The Three Windows is an instrumental that has some interesting guitar work and is very dynamic and has some great chords. The main riff is a bit prog and the loud bits remind me of a GT b-side.

I had very low expectations but I have to say I like these songs - a TGW 2 would have been good but this is as good as it'll get.
Up on UK sites now; on initial listen(s), I'd say There'll Come A War actually reminds me a little of The Intense Humming in places - those electric drums and eerie descending piano chords and atmospherics... Seeking The Room on the other hand is very much a Futurology / RiF style track; main riff is a little Baba O'Riley..?

First listen. Completely in love with There’ll Come A War. Has a bit of a feel of the There By The Grace Of God / Lifeblood era, which makes me very happy!

Seeking The Room With The Three Windows reminds me a bit of Lodger-era Bowie, which also makes me happy! Am more excited for this album now than I could have anticipated. Roll on release news and pre orders!

Wow. Beautifully atmospheric and haunting.

I love the Manics bangers but when they are free of the draw of 'written for radio' they're so much more interesting, surprising and wonderfully unique..

Bradders has clearly been listening to Berlin era Bowie again! I absolutely love the single, it’s fantastically atmospheric and brooding. Can’t wait to hear the full album. JDB is always interesting when it comes to solo work, just wish that he did more of it. This definitely doesn’t sound or feel like the Manics and that’s great.

I'm getting 'Running out of fantasy' vibes.

Not overly impressed with the video and I know they aren't getting any younger but most of their videos have been awful.
The last one with any real attempt at being different was Walk me to the bridge. And yes I know this is a solo effort.

Nice song though.

Then why are you talking about it as though it’s a Manics release?

Ooo sorry for making conversation.
Being as he's the lead singer and this is on a manics forum I thought it wouldn't matter.

I’m just confused as to why, in a thread about JDB’s new solo material, you’re just talking about how crap the Manics are at making music videos.
