I don't think I understand why the manics even use twitter. do they ever put anything of any use on it? information about forthcoming tv appearances, radio appearances, release dates etc?

No, that's Sony's problem. Nicky just likes wittering on about lyrics, quotes, albums and songs for the day and the kisses at the end of it

All well and good saying that - but what about the people who have spent A LOT of money on hotels/flights etc?

yes its all well and good getting a ticket refund, but we cannot get refunds on hotels flights etc.

Tough tits unfortunately, as otherwise it would open the doors to people claiming all sorts of expense. Put another way, if YOU were ill, would you expect Brixton Academy to refund you?

WHat more can they say? Have James shuffling on to an empty stage in his dressing gown and filming an apology (presumably via sign language)? Unfortunately, if you choose to travel to see a band, you have to be aware that there's the possibility they might cancel. It's a risk. And it's why I don't travel to Morrissey gigs any more - half the time he doesn't turn up. The band could never afford to refund the travel/hotel costs of everyone who has been let down. It's a horrible situation for band and fans but completely unavoidable. They have done the decent thing and let everyone know as soon as they knew, and issued an apology.

I'm pretty sure James is fully aware of how many people are disappointed and financially put out. It's not like he could help it though (apart from not touring in winter, but then summer isn't illness free), and I'm sure he feels guilty.If he didn't cancel the gigs, and carried on regardless, he could risk seriously damaging his voice forever. I'd be quite put out about that. It isn't his fault that people travel from far away, needing travel fares and hotel stays. Thats their choice, people have to realise that anything involving... well anything involving people, really is subject to whatever can happen to the human body. You take that small risk when you spend the money and book it, and unfortunately that has happened.

That's why when I book tickets to see something that requires traveling (I live in Guernsey) I get the tickets sent to someone who lives there, so, IF, I can't make it/the flights cancelled...the tickets won't go to waste.
However, it doesn't make a difference if the show itself is off...
Ah well, there's always next time.

It's a shame (believe me, I've spent a fucking fortune on this tour) but what can you do? Do you want them to send you a cheque?
