Don't know about anyone else, but considering Nicky's recent "I'm still so angry!" interview with NME, I actually feel quite disappointed and pissed-off that he hasn't said one thing about these education cuts, or wikileaks. This is a guy who will happily champion the social commentary of his album, but when it comes to proper mainstream interviews he talks about turkey kievs. Coldplay have more political credibility.
Yes but the political sphere he's put his allegiance in collapsed; socialism didn't work, he can't seem to bring himself to believe in any other political direction and, with the shame of the last Labour Government, having a go at the Coalition just looks like a whinge if you can't claim to be on better ground yourself.

Doesn't mean he's not as relevant as Coldplay though; political apathy's got a lot of people.

Turkey kievs was a bad example. I thought that was most interesting thing I'd seen from them in months. But I'm tired of the 'We've fallen back in love with ourselves' shite...especially after the 'I'm still so ANGRY' posturing.

They should never have fallen out of love with themselves!

Can you imagine how much your comment would have hurt the late, great, Bernard Matthews? It's just thoughtless of you.

It's a real shame that socialism/communism has only ever been implemented by despots, as on paper it makes absolute sense and should be the way society runs. Marx had it right but so many of his devotees have gotten it dramatically wrong in their lust for power.

To be fair to the Wire, he's the only person in the UK who's called Nick Clegg for exactly what he is: a smarmy car salesman who went into politics.

You really think Nicky is the only person to slag off Clegg?? I'm quite, quite sure plenty of people have been saying similar - if not wittier - things about him for quite some time.

Well, I, personally, slagged him off after the first tv debate because I couldn't believe how gullible peeps were for falling for his talking direct to the camera crap, but Nicky is the only 'celebrity' person I've heard who's called him for exactly what he is. This tuition fee jazz has proven that he was right on the money. No?

I haven't followed any celebrities' comments about the coalition really, but I'd be very surprised if Nicky was the ONLY person to share that view of Clegg. And I can't say I even noticed Nicky slagging him off either; your post is the first I've heard of it, so it's not as if he's made a point of making his opinion widely known about it.

Human nature will always get in the way, people are intrinsically cunts. Look at this place.

Are you serious? I'd have expected better observation skills from someone who resides at your address

Nicky did indeed call the charlatan for exactly what he is. I've not heard anyone else echo those sentiments publicly in the press, personally.

It was in that interview that initially appeared in The Times Playlist mag and then the NME where Nicky slagged off Clegg.

I have more important things to do, like investigate murders and swish around London in a stylish coat

Maybe, but I still don't think he's made much of a song and dance about it. Plus, I don't really see it as him making a particularly shrewd observation in saying that; I can't speak for anyone else but me and my parents had these kind of discussions about Nick Clegg before the election took place and we don't have an all-important Politics degree between us
