God Save The Manics EP

Pertaining to the song Picturesque:

Did the band at the time (2005) mention that Richey's lyrics were used in this song?

Yes. Nicky said both he and Richey had been working on the lryric hence why he thought it was OK to use it. That was back in 2005 and makes little since JFPL was released.

Do you have a source for this Routine Builder? Would be very grateful to see. I don't recall him saying anything at the time in 2005 but my memory on this subject could be a little hazy.

It was radio interview with Phil Jupitus where the EP was played. I don't have a recording anymore but I'm sure salt and pepper can help.

Edit: judging by mspedia, not PJ but definitely remember it being said on radio.

I could be wrong, but I recall Richey's sister being a bit pissed off when she found out the lyrics used on JFPL were previously used on Picturesque. I remember her asking for information about the song on the EP and I'm fairly sure I wasn't dreaming.

I've had an interview with Nicky back in 2009, and he said it was sort of James's editing Picturesque. He didn't touch the folder with Richey's lyrics up until they decided to make JFPL.

No you're right it was on Phil's Show!

N: It is but we were just in the studio and we were itching to do something. I mean Picturesque what you've just played is an old kind of half Richey lyric that me and him did a long time ago and I just felt sometimes you can't control creativity (the DJ's laugh)

Wish I could remember my Uni notes just as well as random Manic interviews taken over 10 years ago.... Memory is weird....

It passed me by at the time too but in my defence I was working nights, drunk when I wasn't working and internetless...
