Nick Poetry

So... does anyone think that it's a massive possibility that a poetry anthology by Nicky will appear?

or maybe an album, like Patrick did?

Or do you think, like I do, that any time Nicky writes a half decent poem, James and Sean go "We can probably do something with that!" and steal it, like Prologue to History....

Discuss!

Was Prologue To History a piece of poetry by Nicky stolen by James and Sean?

I can see Nicky publishing some poetry once he feels too old to tour and he decides not to leave his house any more

I remember one of questionnaires where Nicky said that writing lyrics and poetry is a different experience for him and he divides these two activities. I'm a huge fan of his poetry, Blueprints for Exile was great thing to read and I'd be happy to read something more from him (but not when it means he doesn't work with the Manics anymore)

James and Sean often break into Nicky's house and rifle through his books of poetry, whilst Martin holds the Jones family at gunpoint.

there you are (I rewrote them, there are some missings, I couldn't read his handwriting so I put question marks instead. if someone knows what are the missing words, please share this information)

Quote:
BLUEPRINTS FOR EXILE

Blinddogs

Sightles devotion
willful defendence
selfless surrender
beauty unconditional
united compassion
truer than truth
against the immortals
fragile unexpianable
we have existance
we have revelation
we have progress (a way [???])

When.

When all this comes to an end
we'll be the owes rememberring when
when the dissappearing
is all too close
we'll remember when
we crossed the fingers in hope
when the darkness arrives
we'll all close our eyes
and pray we know the
meaning of When.
when the impossible
becomes forgotten
language like grains of salt
sprinkled over haddock and chips
we'll meet our maker
with deathmask desire
and know the meaning of When.
when the words like motion
bullet train past our lives
wen "all is said and done"
When age and time have won
can "When" become peaceful
when infinity overpowers desire
will the perfect storm arrive
who will then decide
WHEN.

Doors closing/safety coming

gardens without walls
homes without souls
peering sneering
reductuion of size
faces fill windows
space destructed
architectural war crimes
all is new make money
in well-insulated coffins
nowness the creed too seek
house builders
satan seeking - maximising
peoples hatred-anxeties
boundaries without form
are no bounaries at all
tiny picket fences
force you to realise
how small your life
really is

Empires

Empires
Always die
flicker like
divided skies
slow motion
polaroids
diminishing
maneovalant
empty eyes
disguised
with the truth
energised by lies
seditionary
unhappy dances
dishonour humiliation
contracted death
coming|going|coming|going

Eras

Lagging behind
sagging behind
life has outpaced me
the afterburners fade
the soundless nostalgia
black, white
sepia dominates
smiles shimmer, - glimmerring hope
contests the doom
love is not history
is it a future?
will there be a new emotion
for us all too suffer

In Essence ([??? ??? ???])

Sitting here the peace perfect
space vastness
this one second of purity
inescapable wonder

those invitation cards
that darkended our skies
obliterated by the paces
here beneth my eyes

lost in you lost in me
minutes elapse
words remain words contain
every bit of joy and pain

in essence your imperfections
forgiven
in essence your intolerance
toleranted
I love gladly in your shadow
it covers me with comfort
kills ambition
allows me
to be
still

In-Between Old

We read the local papers
we search for indoor markets
we long for youthful visits
we misty-eye the future

oldish in-between
versus lean
outward and onward
big bangs - starlight dead
InBetween the rocks of death

we wake up early
we sleep with memory
we dread the moving clock
we fake the leaning and rot

oldish InBetween
making tones
indie drones
the stammer - no airbrushed mirror
cold shoulders - none the slimmer
old fools and Prufrocks all
haunting seasons follow on

the armies are not yet upon us
we have no strenght to be upon deserters
but we have been deserted
not dark not light - the unknown half
making our way home
never having quite left it.
maybe time will help - no wasting perhaps
bewildered already - the furure
has just ARRIVED

What is Blueprint for Exile? Where did it come from, a book or was it published on the website?

I really like Nick's poems and think there's great milage in him writing more. I guess it depends what mood he is in and if he has the time with the new album.

Thanks Deets! I also rewrote them and I managed to cancel my question marks thanks to you! For the last line of Blinddogs I'd copied "We have progress (a way forward)".
