It was the first album in years that was fun.
Everyone back on musical form

It wasn't long enough.
There wasn't much variation in the song structure

Your Love Alone Is Not Enough
I'm Just A Patsy

(and really pushed)
The Second Great Depression
Autumnsong

Re-established the band as one of the leading pop/rock bands of Britain after the commercial failure of Lifeblood
Gave the band a new generation of new fans

Poor songwriting (music and lyrics)
The undeserved amount of love from the band towards this record

Imperial Bodybags
Send Away the Tigers

The Second Great Depression
Winterlovers

The 2 Positives + of Send Away The Tigers =
It was successful, which the band deserved.
The success and enjoyment of them all meant they stopped coming across as boring fuckheads

The 2 Negatives - of Send Away The Tigers =
It wasn't very good.
Only enhanced their appearance as a Dad Rock band. My generation have no clue of what they were/ are.

The 2 Best Tracks from Send Away The Tigers =
The Second Great Depression.
Indian Summer

The 2 Worst Tracks from Send Away The Tigers =
Auntumnsong

+ Return of the Manic swagger/confidence in rock'n'roll
+ Brief and to the point, like all good pop should be

- Too much repetition in the lyrics
- Ends on a low

+1. Imperial Bodybags
+2. The Second Great Depression

-1. Underdogs
-2. Winterlovers

Thinking about this, I had forgotten how much I love this album...

The 2 Positives + of Send Away The Tigers

A fine return to an anthemic sound/real strings, a superb tour with great setlists.

The 2 Negatives - of Send Away The Tigers

Shit artwork (The fucking backwards R's/those stupid cows on the cover), Wayne Murray / Sean Read singing badly on the tour.

The 2 Best Tracks from Send Away The Tigers

Send Away The Tigers & The Second Great Depression

The 2 Worst Tracks from Send Away The Tigers

Patsy and Underdogs.

The b-sides are pretty good + the band looked comfortable with themselves

There's nothing interesting about it + uninspired production

Winterlovers + Indian Summer

Positives - return to commercial success; possibly kept the band together.

Negatives - inevitable sniping from a few fans who claimed the Manics had sold out; only two singles.

Best songs - Rendition, Send Away The Tigers
Worst songs - Underdogs, Working Class Hero

positives = backward "R" makes a welcome return, you didn't have to look for Nicky Wire up his own arse

negatives = a "pop" album named after Tony Hancock's references to his troubles with alcohol is somewhere even Morrissey never went, in the years since it was released, every time they refer to it as their "comeback" sounds more and more like a "fuck you" to the fans who, whilst having no "right" to the band, stood by them anyway

best songs - underdogs, imperial bodybags

worst songs - your love alone, autumnsong. didn't Nicky say they would never do love songs? these two would be close to that, and are total, fucking wank.

To be fair they aren't exactly love songs.
And the Manics already did Further Away which is a love song, and a love song only, and i see no problem with that.
A whole album of them would be shite, in fact maybe more than one an album would suck, but they write about what effects them blah de blah...
