I have put this in the Cherry Ghost thread, but it probably needs to be here to as it contains confirmation of the single and some of the treats we have got in store for Dec.
December Tour Support Neutral Manic Street Preachers are thrilled to announce that Cherry Ghost have been confirmed as special guests on the Christmas UK tour. The band personally chose Cherry Ghost, as their album "Thirst For Romance" is James Dean Bradfield's favourite record of the year so far. Meanwhile, the Manics have been planning more songs for said tour including "1985", "Australia", "Masses Against The Classes", "She Is Suffering", "Slash 'n' Burn" as well as some acoustic oddities from James. The band are about to record B sides for "Indian Summer", the third single from their gold selling eighth album "Send Away The Tigers". P.S. Thanks to everyone who put "Autumnsong" as the highest new entry this week in the Top Ten.

Please let there not be any of his solo stuff. Can we have Nicky solo stuff instead?

Damn them on learning She is Suffering from THB comparatively thats not so much fun live, and they've already done the foolish move of learning PCP only to then remember singing it live half kills James, which is still a dreadful shame as its always good to hear it. I kinda wish they'd re-learn OWA as that was amazing in 2005 when you got a good crowd and everyone got into the ending, though maybe you shouldn't just go re-treading old ground?
Still not sure about Indian Summer as a single though it didn't ever quite gel live, I know a lot of people weren't that keen on Autumnsong but it pretty much always got a good reaction when they played it so did seem like an obvious single choice. Quite a few reviews mentioned IS as a standout track though so who knows. New b-sides though is always good, don't suppose we'd get Wire vocals twice in one campaign though would we? Also completely pointless but its still bothering me why on that note theres leopard print tape on top of rainbow star tape? the Armando Iannucci quote I think is him talking about that line from the thick of it, I'm sure it was in one of the music mags about the time of SATT as I remember having read it at the time. |

Yay for 1985 and Masses! I'm also really looking forward to She is Suffering even though everyone says it's boring.
Will we get an acoustic of Last Christmas?
