Show Your... DIY Manics Clothing!

So I've been inspired by Nicky to make my own jacket with patches, studs, badges, writing etc. How many of you have made DIY Manics cloths that you'd be willing to share photos of? Looking for inspiration.

(I apologise in advance if this has been done before - I couldn't find a thread)

I made my own Nicky inspired patchwork jacket to wear at the RAH gig a few weeks ago. I've also been using it as my everyday jacket (which gets a lot of funny looks!)

Never done much sewing or anything like it before so it was quite a challenge. Took a couple of months to complete but pleased with how it turned out!

Good luck making your jacket!

That's gorgeous! Love the different types of decoration you've used, it looks really cool. I wasn't sure what type of jacket to go with so I went with black denim, but if that goes well I might go for a blazer to be more authentic. The leopard print / tartan looks really good.

Thanks!
Mine's a black denim jacket I've had for a good 10+ years. Originally wanted some kind of blazer type but couldn't find anything that I liked/that fitted me (I'm very short and it's almost impossible to find anything that fits me nicely!) A lot of the materials and stuff I used were just found around the house and the rest from a local fabric store and ebay.

Oh I didn't realise it was a denim jacket, that gives me hope for mine too haha. Gonna have a go at spray painting the back too, I'm not covinced that'll end well. I feel your pain in terms of ill-fitting jackets, I'm 5'2, always looks like I have half a foot of extra material on each arm.

That looks really cool! I'm gonna have to get my mam to show me how to sew for this project, knitting goes straight over my head. Really cool!

Thanks, knitting's very Occupational Therapy!

I want to make a blazer now though, but I have the opposite problem with sleeve length, being over 5' 9".
