Faster at Glastonbury 94
A bit of a muso's question this.
I am working at the BL this week and they have a Punk 1976-78 exhibition on at the minute. It's pretty cool. I was listening to some random songs on the headphones in there and Public Image Ltd's first single "Public Image" came on. I notice the intro to that song is a bass riff and Lydon shouting "Hello, hello, hello." Jimbo also shouts "Hello, hello, hello" over Nicky's bass when they step on stage and start Faster at Glastonbury 94. Does anyone know if he has ever mentioned this as a little planned homage or subconscious coincidence? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIAZ8unRm2c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jblh5gU3fLI |

I think James has mentioned recently that it was a homage to PIL. Don't know where I heard it, I think it may of been an interview on Later? I may be wrong though.

James has said on several occasions that Metal Box is a huge influence on The Holy Bible. The bass playing on that album is very much in the stream of Jah Wobble. I think songs like 4st 7lb and the intense humming of evil jave a PIL guitar influence.

"Faster" was jokingly listed on one setlist as PUBLIC IMAGE, according to the music press in 1994.
