Heard the studio version is storming. James seems to have a filter on the vocals too which add to it. It's quite reminiscent of the filters used on THB. The drumming starts quite gentle and gets progressivly louder. Quite a bit of electronica in the mix too.

Love this song.
Sounded a bit like Goldfrapp and Big Audio Dynamite .

like it, but based on the Leeds airing it may be a verse / chorus too long.

have tried recalling it without listening to it for 24 hours, and for some reason could only come up with the Judge Yrself melody - the verses are vaguely similar in their phrasing maybe.

Reminds me of a track off U2s Achtung Baby, zoo station??? Can't remember especially with the German connection.

Knowing the Manics they'll probably not release it as a single or if they do it'll have a boring Patrick Jones video.
Thanks for the video. I like it! Sounds almost Holy Bible-esque to me. I LOVE the lyrics on the screen (also very THB like)!

I'd say it's more akin to Zaroopa for the german connection but musically akin to Achtung Baby.

OK, I think I cracked the lyrics (updated the earlier post). HunkyDory's suggestions for the German verse helped (thanks) but the first line still didn't sound right to me, so put it through the pig-cave's machines and gizmos to try and make it clearer, and then tried literally putting words into google translate until something seemed to fit, so I think it's "Geister eifer lichter schlaf" which literally translates (via google at least) as 'Spirits jealousy lights sleeping'.

Anyone agree/disagree?

Also got the 'Let's salute eternalism' line from re-watching one of the videos.

I think you mean Robin Turner (https://twitter.com/robinturner), and I don't think he specified track names (unless I missed that). So I don't think we know either way.
