Motorcycle Emptiness - A Manic Street Preachers Club Night

Manchester Against Poverty is excited to bring you MOTORCYCLE EMPTINESS, a club night inspired by the music and politics of the Manic Street Preachers.

M.A.P is all about promoting equality, love and peace to as many people as possible, and we see this as a great way to do so. In a nutshell this will be a club night where the Manics are played approximately every 4 or 5 songs, interspersed with many other great artists of a similar ilk.

This time we have an improved sound system (owned by the venue) and the night is 2 hours longer so we can do the full Manics collection justice.

The Castle Hotel is one of Manchester's greatest and most authentic pubs, so we're delighted to be holding the night here. http://www.thecastlehotel.info/

Once again entry is just £3 all night, and all the money raised goes to Oxfam. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/

Featuring the music of: The Ramones, Radiohead, Tears For Fears, Placebo, Queens Of The Stone Age, The National, Belle & Sebastian, British Sea Power, Los Campesinos, Allo Darlin’, The Hold Steady, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rage Against The Machine, The Clash, Guns 'N' Roses, Rolling Stones, Stereophonics, The Libertines, Muse, Altered Images, Camera Obscura, The Cure, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Pixies, Pulp, Nirvana, The Smiths, The Human League, and of course, The Manic Street Preachers.

Please please please invite anyone who you think might be interested in this night, and help make the world a better place for all.

Saturday 18 June at 21:00 - 03:00
The Castle Hotel, 66 Oldham Street, Manchester M4 1LE

Best Wishes and Stay Beautiful.

M.A.P.

Does anyone know who I could contact to get the night mentioned on an official manics source? Eg. their official website or facebook/twitter?

I'd say it won't happen, I've never seen them advertise something like this, but you could try contacting hall or nothing.

Hi Chris, Me & a few friends used to do a Manics clubnight in Manchester (1999 to 2006, see links below!) During the release for Know Your Enemy, Sony/Hall or Nothing were really helpfull & gave us posters/promos to give out.

I've tried e-mailing recently (since the launch of Postcards) but to no reply. Hopefully you might have better luck! All the info is online for Hall or Nothing, just have a google for them.

Hope the night goes well for you, nice to see it's for charity too!

Also, in regards to getting mentioned thru an official Manics source, I wouldn't hold your breath.. We did over 25 Manic Street Mania's and didn't get one mention.

Our night is also going to return soon, but we'll make sure it doesn't clash with yourselves!
