Were those reviews good though? They may have just quoted parts of them. The Q review was meant to be awful ...they didn't bother including its star rating.

Oh yeah, there's some disingenuous out-of-context stuff there, but most of those quotations are genuinely praising the album, and it's quite a large number of four-to-five star ratings.

2/5 or something as I rememeber

I remember the sub-headline on it being really dickish, something along the lines of "Remember when they used to be provicative?"

Bear in mind this is the same magazine that gave Be Here Now a 5-star rating.

Well, they had to make up for things after they gave Morning Glory a 2/5 rating.

Even as a kid growing up with Q it was never a good barometer of music, more concerned with style than substance.
