James's SATT jacket

Anyone know where one can get a Jacket similar to that worn by James in the YLAINE video?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86z_0jd5ErE

I had something similar from Next but it got washed and went a bit crinkly

I'd try a shop that sells ex military gear. There's quite a large one in Birmingham, near the university, and I found a naval top there (white short sleeve with square neck, blue piping) which I couldn't find online anywhere. It was even a women's one, so that was a bonus! (for me, obv.)

It has all kinds of awesome things. Even tops that can be worn as skinny ribs which are army PT T-shirts. Camoflague netting if you want to re-enact Holy Bible-era Manics. Hammocks. Hats. Helmets. Boots. Gas-masks. James and Richey long-sleeved naval tops. Sailor bell-bottoms. Awwww, it's awesome in there!

If my jacket did not have the sewn on patches it would be very similar.

It's not always second hand - a lot of it's just dead stock. When I lived in Colchester, it being a garrison town, you could get loads of army gear because every so often they'd find a shed in a barracks somewhere and it was full of National Service jackets or canvas haversacks which no one had ever used and which they'd put into storage and just forgotten about!

My most recent purchase was a cropped-waist 1940s-style army jacket. It doesn't show any sign of wear at all, so it was either worn once or twice or not at all. It's exactly the same as ones I've seen my grandad wearing in photos.

Then again, I love vintage clothing so second hand doesn't bother me! I used to have a fab British Rail jacket. It was cut a bit like a military dress jacket but had enamel BR logos on the lapels. It was awesome but 100% synthetic fabric so a bit warm. Also got a tube driver's hat - it's got the bloke's name written inside it in felt tip!

The coat you see me wearing in most photos was bought solely because it looked like James' SATT jacket

It's on Harborne Park Road.

Hang on, there's a website!
http://www.twryderarmyandnavy.co.uk/

They don't have an online shop. They're on the 11, 29 and 29a bus route and not too far from the University or Selly Oak stations.
