So what happens now?
Just trying to work out what the future holds, MSP wise.
The Escape From History documentary is out later this year, anything else?

More of the same-old, at least here.

Forgot about the documentary. Would be good to watch on the big screen.
Then back to waiting for new stuff. We're used to this by now though! |

Will Escape from the History do a big screen tour then?
If so then then weren't the band predicting their future with Nostalgic Pushead? |

The cash-ins are finished. They will not play arenas never mind a stadium again.
I hope they just go and hibernate in Faster Studios and just write songs. They don't have to be for mass communication or critically acclaimed by JDB's drinking buddies in the music press. I hope they just go and write for themselves. And then put it out. No fanfare. No Saturday morning cooking show shite. Just write some songs and we will listen to them. |

That album really needs a remastering and I'd be happy with a box full of stuff from that era.
As for special shows, see how it goes! No date for Escape From History yet I take it? |

Do we have a timeframe on a new album?

New album. One that sounds like them, that they totally want to make, however it sounds. Whether it's a proper ROCK album, something more low-key like "Rewind the Film" or continuing down the path of "Futurology", I want new material. The band has done enough looking back for now.

I was lucky enough to visit Faster Studios approximately 12 months ago as I was working on one of my songs with the Vulcan String Quartet and speaking with Loz Williams, he told me that James had been in the week before doing some work on a film score/instrumental but I didn't want to press him too much. So work was happening on it, although not exactly sure what happened! Was also told that they hadn't started any work on a new album by that point either.

I'm expecting a 20th anniversary Truth re-release seeing as they never bothered with the 10th. Not fussed about an album gig... I do want a new album first tho

It's two and a half years before Truth 20 so there's plenty of time for a new album before then. An anniversary tour might be nice as there are songs they've never played but the problem is doing too much of that might end up overshadowing the new stuff. I'd happily live without it if it means prioritising the new album(s).

I got into the Manics at the start of the Truth era so I'd buy an anniversary edition. But no more anniversary gigs. Play a few of the songs like Black Dog, Nobody Loved You in a set but no more full album bollox.
