Hi all! I have sadly never left the US ever in my life. Trying to figure out my travel plans for the shows now, and maybe it's time to change that! What's Toronto like?

Stand-in for NYC. One of the most expensive cities in Canada.

This is actually happening!!! I thought someone was just screwing with us when I first saw that!

And, yeah, Toronto is expensive, but there are hostels and other cheaper options if you're up for them. Canadians need a passport to drive to the U.S., but I'm not sure if Americans need a passport to cross the border. So make sure you've got all that stuff sorted out in time, if you go.

I will definitely be there!

Reminder - all US citizens need a passport to go to Canada! Canada doesn't actually require one to enter their country, but the US requires one to come back to the US. Canada will make sure you have a passport when you enter Canada, so that you can leave, and they don't get stuck with you.

My passport expired soon after the last Manics show in Toronto, and I can't afford to renew it, so I won't be there this time.

Toronto is awesome - I'd highly recommend checking it out, particularly if you haven't left the US. It's *similar* while still being foreign. And if you're a sushi fan, I think some of the best sushi in North America can be found in Toronto. I loved the place and would highly recommend it.

FYI - there is no venue called "Danforth" here. It's actual name is The Danforth Music Hall (or for locals, The Music Hall) and it's located at 147 Danforth Avenue which is south of Braodview on Danforth Ave. if you're coming to town for the gig, it's a very well known venue so you shouldn't have trouble finding it. Hope you have fun!

I'll be in Toronto at the end of March. Do you think it's worth going to see the venue? Maybe there will be some MSP tour posters or something?

If you're in the area, why not? I wouldn't go out of your way though. I doubt they'll have posters up, but you can check.

Where is everyone staying for this gig? I'm trying to find a cheap hotel/inn on the metro line.

I'm so excited - haven't been to a Manics gig (or even on this website) since 2008! It's a huge nostalgic tour for me too

I decided to go for it - I always had a feeling my first departure from the US would be manics related! bgdaniels, I'm a huge sushi fan - any recommendations? I-accuse-history, I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Express Downtown, not too pricey, not sure if it's on the metro line though.

I think you'd be a couple blocks' walk to King Street Station. You'll need to transfer at Bloor/Yonge to the other line (Bloor/Danforth) and get off at Broadview to get to the Music Hall.

My favourite sushi place in the Greater Toronto Area was 168 Sushi Buffet
www.168sushibuffet.com
2366 Dundas St W, Mississauga

Yes, I know, it's too far away, but their All You Can Eat was amazing and really cheap . And I also liked the idea of an iPad menu.
