Pricier than you might be used to, but if you pick the right bar/restaurant they shouldn't be too bad. Drinks at Webster are annoyingly expensive (IIRC it's $9 for a beer on tap...) so I'd recommend going elsewhere first.

So tuckedaway, you sound like a native..where should we meet before the show?..I'm still figuring out which subway to take as I'm staying with relatives at 67th Street West Ave

I've only been to NYC two or three times, but it looks like the venue is close to the East and West Villages, so there shouldn't be a shortage of good bars. Agreed that the venue won't be the best option - I'd assume it's like London and drinks will be double the price elsewhere.

Anyone coming from the UK?
We've decided to bring forward a long thought about holiday in NY just so we can see the Manics! Anyone else out there making the trip?

Re. Anyone coming from the UK?
Yup, I'll be over from London for the New York gig, then the following night in Boston too. I'm working in a non-Manics related trip to Maine afterwards.

There's a bar on St Marks called Grass Roots. I know people there. I think I could organize a pre show meet up and post show party there if people want. Inexpensive drinks (by NYC standards). It's a dive bar... But it's been there forever.
If people want to go a few blocks further east, we could probably go to Manitobas. It's owned by Handsome Dick Manioba from the Dictators. Cool punk bar. (I am dragging my friend who is in the Dictators to the show). What do you think? I am happy to make arrangements. |

Both sound cool, how about pre-show at one and after-show at another?

I will let you all make the call - tell me what you would like.
Can we start a poll on here? Last edited by GregRoss; 02-04-2015 at 04:10. |

yes, let's meet up somewhere close for drinks! Any good suggestions from those that know the area. My brother lives there maybe he knows a good place to meet up

I like the idea of a pre show and an after show

I thought Manitoba's closed..but I did a show with him in Spain in 2013 and he's the real deal if it's still opened.I'd vote for the Grassroots place though from what I've read
