Do we really need a second thread to discuss it?

Yes, it's the worst thing to happen ever.

It's a shame but they did well, nowt wrong with number 3, especially when it was so close.

This album has really grown on me this week (well since last saturday, thanks townsend!) and its a real shame that it didn't do better and give the manics that second number one album

I understand that there's a huge crowd buying Phil Collins records, but who buys the second record by a terrible band like the Script in its second week? At least last year it was Eminem in his second week who kept them from being #2 - he has a very devoted fanbase.

I often compare the Script to Michael Buble. They have an innate blandness that appeals to both young and old for some reason. It's quite difficult to fathom in all honesty. I know a number of people my own age who like the Script and make no bones about it.

Fucking hell. Been #1 al bloody week. That's annoyed me now. But it's another high charting album for the band, which is nothing to be disappointed with at the end of the day. I'd never even heard of the Script band until last week.

I haven't even heard any songs from the other two albums, the Manics have had so much more exposure, or maybe I look in the wrong places.

I saw an ad for the Scipt album at least 4 times a day every week at prime time, I think I saw the Manics one about 4 times all week

Ha, that does portray me in a rather bad light! But being Irish i often get asked about the Script and i feel Buble is a valid comparison. It's kind of inoffensive music that people listen to and 'chill' these days i suppose!!! Sad if you ask me

And they could have used more than one song on it than just Its Not War, the number 28 single

I haven't seen any adverts for it. I hate Colin Murray.
