The Manics have always had this intellectual and romantic spirit about them.

I personally think this video is the band's mission statement/thesis.

Like they're saying.. "This is what we're about."

The video succeeds in that high-brow intellectuals will like it, but so will the lovestruck sentimentalists.


Let the other bands do flashy, "I'm on top of the f***ing world" cool as hell videos like Stereophonics "Dakota." The Manics have been there.

"It's Not War" video came across to me as timeless and beautiful.

I've seen the word originality bandied around a few times, I have yet to spot any it.

Those shirt/tie combos look a bit like the one Al Murray wears as the pub landlord.

James looks a little dishevelled, nobody thought of having a shave clearly! I don't know whether it's the shadow, but Nicky looks like he's beginning to attempt a Joey Barton tache.

Micheal Sheen does'nt look very tall?? unless he is sitting down like Nicky obviously is. James looks good in a 'rough and ready' sort of way:heart:

I also got an outside perspective on the video yesterday in the form of the boyfriend to see what he thought. He said pretty much the same thing really, that it didn't relate to the song and then went on about how it was actually the complete opposite of what the song was saying:

"Just the end of love is the song title, but they fall in love at the end. It should be the other way around."

He then went onto say it was "boring" and "it explains nothing".

I liked it, wierd since I wasn't expecting too. Song has started to grow on me aswell. That last minute I do agree is like 'filler' for the video though. If Nicky and James couldn't of thought of anything clever to go there then surely someone could..

Arh yes, I see now, Sheen is recorde on Celebheights as 5ft 9.5 so not such a short guy as he look there

5ft 9 is pretty tall for a Welsh bloke! Nicky's height is freakish by comparison to the height of most Welsh men.
