From the official site: Nicky: “I suppose the question here is, are you only truly yourself when you’re alone. It’s a philosophical question and one to which I don’t have the answer. But this is just a song about simplicity and the joy of coffee and magazines and a big comfy bed." |

Well I can't wait to hear the album myself and post my own thoughts.
But I am very heartened to see my favourite Manics albums in everyone's bottom 10! |

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a3...nopressure.gif I genuinely hate Hazelton Avenue though... Like VSEC, it will never work for me. My sister even predicted I would before I had told her what I thought of it, I'm not sure how. SKON manages to be uplifting, melancholic, epic and simple ALL at the same time. It's magical. |

I absolutely love I Think I've Found It. The melodies and riffs are spot on.

OK, I've decided Hazleton Avenue sounds like the theme tune to a rubbish late 70s/early 80s soap opera.

But I love it. Sounds genuinly and sincerely whistful. |

AND I've just listened to it to cement my opinion, and ensure I'm not judging it too harshly, and seriously it sounds like The Corrs or something. And I don't even mind some of their songs, so it's like a shitter version of a Corrs song. Which surely has to be bad right? |
I Think I Found It just turns into I Think I Forgot How It Sounds, to me. Hazelton is like a mix of tunes from The Great Western, after being slowed down and made into mush.
|
I think I've found it grows on you after a while, Don't Be Evil however...ending an album with that shows really poor judgment imho.
