The album cover will make a nice poster. I think the cover is one of the best the Manics have had.

It has gravitas and looks instantly iconic. Who's the young man in the title meant to be , Nicky?

"PFAYM" - has it been said yet?

Flint 01-06-2010 16:55

PFAYM -> P-FAYM (pronounced pee-fame).

Easier than J'ffp'll!

franny 01-06-2010 16:58

I'm going with 'fayum'

Mark 01-06-2010 17:02

I'm going with the silent 'p'.

FAME!

Pif-aim. That's my best guess. Sounds like "Piffle" doesn't it? So when Nicky and James were having "piffle" wars and rejecting material, I wonder if Nicky came up with the name for the album as a response?

Well I just think it's true mate. As their fans, we should want the Manics to be as successful as possible. We should want them to be in the public's eye and want more people to hear their music. Like I said, I haven't always enjoyed it when they've done something a bit different (LB is good but has no passion, KYE is a fucking mess) but I still love the fact that they don't just churn out the same old noise with each successive album. So if PFAYM turns out to be a mixture of EMG/SATT then that's wonderful because it's another opportunity for them to draw in an audience. The less commercial records they've done then become another side to the band for the new audience to discover.

And fuck it, SATT was not intelligent but it's still a fun record!! :D

I like to see them do well. And would love nothing more than for them to be huge again and get the attention they deserve. Unfortunately, these day's, considering the state of pop music, the price is generally to high. I don't want another cop out like YLAINE. It's great for the band, they make lots of money, get invited to play festivals all over the place and play bigger venues. But as a fan, as far as I'm concerned, all it means it that there's generally more twats at the gigs, that only know two or three songs. And, as with YLAINE and The Everlasting, the bad songs tend to stay put on the set list for years to come.

Can we have a comprehensive presales link of tickets in one post please, just starting to get confused!

Thanks.

one last shot at mass communication

I know it is always said, but isn't this the big clue that this is the last album and tour?

And if Sony want albums, Sony will get albums!

Given that Nicky said they'd still make albums, I'd hope not, Nicky would never lie...
