Eh?!

I fucking love All We Make Is Entertainment. Reminds me a little bit of The Who. The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever is STILL stuck in my head. Really uplifting album, love it.

I'd agree wih this, Don't Be Evil is my current favourite and on the whole a really uplifting album indeed.

I will be a little negative though... The only duff track for me is I Think I've Found It. But not many albums are perfect.

Personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about. I think it's a decent enough album and has it's own place amongst their back catalogue and doesn't seem to be out of place. It's not their best, but it certainly isn't their worst either. Favourite tracks for me at the moment are Hazeltone Avenue, Auto Intoxication and All We Make Is Entertainment. The last 2 tracks however let the album down in my opinion.

I haven't really singled out a duff track yet. I'd say most the album's consistently 6/10, 7/10 type stuff with a couple of stand out tracks.

Wonder if people would see it any differently if they'd never uttered the words "mass communication", they've come in for more criticism for that than the music.

This is my daily reminder to anyone who's interested that I love PFAYM!
Even DBE is growing on me in a way I never thought it would.

The more I listen to it, the more it leaves me feeling a little cold and unfulfilled. Found I'm already skipping tracks when playing it through.

Beyond the double whammy of my two favourites on there ('postcards', 'nothingness'), there's really not anything there for me that stands alongside the rest of their catalogue. Sounds like a latter-day bsides compilation more than a complete album or new direction.

Currently sits at a 4, maybe 5/10 for me right now.

After several weeks of determined listening, I now like the album and can remember how the songs go.

Wonder if this could work for SATT. Might turn out a bit Guantanamo Bay if I get it wrong.

Joining in on the daily reminder appreciation of the album. Loving it more with each listen! There's not a single song I dislike. Definitely a 7/7.5 out of 10.

I just can't avoid always starting listening to it from track #2. The single really is the most uninteresting song here...

I don't dislike the single but I try and avoid hearing it at the start of the album too just to stop myself becoming sick of it.

It's probably my favourite! Either that or A Billion Balconies...

I'm sick and tired of all this positivity. When's the Pitchfork review going up?

Yep, that'll soon sort the positivity out... In positivity land however, judging by the reviews so far it's going to get quite a nice score on Metacritic!

All We Make Is Entertainment still stands as my Favourite so far, I'd be very happy if they played that on the Tour.
I genuinely LOVE every song on Postcards From A Young Man, each song offers me a little something different.
I don't find myself trying to like it, which is definitely a good thing.

My Townsend order for the single bundle is down as being Complete - posted on 13/09/10 though - but it says "pre-orders are only shown as shipped on day of release for official purposes, they are generally shipped the Friday before release" so hopefully it will arrive tomorrow.

The Gutless Wonder 10-09-2010 20:01

Wonder when mine will arrive? Will check the website. Still going to go to HMV on Monday.
