All We Make Is Entertainment has been massively stuck in my head all day. Hoping they do this live and and not The Descent (although i love the lyric "I can't be poisoned and you will not make me cry" in the latter). In terms of lyrics, I think the album is the best non-Richey LP by a country mile, certainly the most confident.

I simply haven't stopped listening to it. Absolutely love the album - I really can't understand all the criticism.

Anyways, my order of preference for the songs would be quite difficult as some are so close together that its almost impossible to separate them.

I pretty much love all songs, with the exception of PFAYM, Don't Be Evil & The Descent, which I 'only' like (pretty effin much!)

I'm totally loving Hazelton Avenue to the point where I'm actually getting excited at the prospect of hearing the new album which is something that I didn't feel from the other songs I've heard (the b-side of the single is great, but it's a b-side and SKON is generally good, but a little overblown for my liking. INWJTEOL just plain sucks!). Really lovely tune even if I'm still not overjoyed with the constant strings and synths. As a Bowie fanatic, I'm obviously digging the guitar intro (Sounds a hell of a lot like the intro to 'The Prettiest Star' which is a lovely song in it's own right) and what I once thought was an actual sitar upon first listen, is really only James playing his guitar with an effect, but it's still beautiful nonetheless. I also like the messed up orchestration in the break (cello?)...actually, I really really like that part! So yeah, top tune and I hope the rest of the album has the same affect on me musically.

Just came across a scathing It's Not War review on Norman Records. Not sure where to post it.

"Jesus wept. Do these guys ever tire of inflicting their pompous orchestrated power rock on poor innocent ears? I know they've been going 20+ years but there's absolutely no excuse for this barrage of sub-radio 2 friendly, stadium appeasing gash. They once proved, at their peak, you could be bombastic, employ comical chest-beating rhetoric & be of ludicrous mass appeal yet still have a bit of soul, power & integrity. This utterly meaningless piece of tosh is just a little bit horrid - the obligatory "guitar solo" lacks absolutely any spirit or pezazz (I loved 'Motorcycle Emptiness' as much as the next man!!) and the lyrics are vacuous and empty - much like the song. The execrable B-sides on the CD make me think of a really poor pub covers band. Well, at least they're sticking to their roots....Totally without merit, possibly worse than the last Placebo comeback. Gah!"
