:o Is there anyone else out there who got this carried away with their preorders? I've let my Pokemon habit get the better of me.

Has anyone ordered from Townsend records before. Do you reckon it'll take them long to sent to Australia? The place I ordered JFPL from took forever after the release date to actually send it.

Okay wait, I've been neglecting the forum for a while but what are all these versions? I see one are album demos and one of the CDs will be the actual album - what are the other three?

icwkev 18-09-2010 10:06

It usually takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to get that far.

People in the USA are starting to get their singles now and they were posted last friday.

Your item would be posted the day you order (unless its a Sunday of course hah) and then its all down to the postal service how quickly it gets to you.

Karmacy 18-09-2010 10:07

What's the booklet for the regular album version like? Normal printed lyrics?

Three discs are the album from different formats and one is a DVD that comes with one of the formats. Mental illness or stupidity on my part? Or both?

Okay, got the 'Deluxe Version' in the mail today and currently loading onto iTunes - first questions: Is the Japanese Edition out yet, and does anyone have a torrent/link to the obligatory bonus tracks? There's a recession on and I'm moving flat and I'm in no mood to kow-tow to out-dated incentives to buy multiple versions!

I wouldn't say stupidity. Maybe just insane dedication. :P

YES, what the heck is that sniffing noise?! Only noticed it last time around, now don't think I'll be able to escape it whenever I listen to it in future - could wreck the whole track for me.

'Hazelton' just does not do it for me at all. Sounds like a JDB solo bside that didn't quite make it onto a single.

OH MY GOD I HATE YOU PEOPLE. I hadn't noticed it before and now I can't stop hearing it! Sounds like a poorly mixed percussive instrument.

Dancing Kirby 18-09-2010 11:01

These are the bullet points I wrote down while watching the Making Of DVD.

Spoilers below for those who spent silly amounts of money on this thing and haven't watched it yet. Performances are partial not full.

'Broken Up Again' demo

Nicky singing Lenny Kravitz's It Ain't Over while James and Sean record Hazelton Avenue

Nick Nasmyth

Snow + Molly

Full Mac lyric recorded for SKON (with added Nicky backing vocals while he's filming and singing along)

JDB singing The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever wearing shorts

The strings sound much better and more natural before they've been Eringa'd up

Sean + trumpet

JDB doing Del Shannon's Runaway

Demoing 'Perfect Place To Grow', which will make for a great SKON b-side.

Nicky recording Time Ain't Nothing

centralscrutiniser 18-09-2010 11:27

I'd forgotten about this Ian McCulloch chap and when listening to SKON suddenly though 'fucking hell, Nicky's improved'.

Mary Chain 18-09-2010 11:49

Having listened to the proper album versions...Postcards HAS to be the second single. I thought SKON was amazing but it pales in comparison to Postcards. It's fucking amazing.

YAY!! My 2 disc PFAYM has just arrived in the post!! Lovely booklet and art print that came with the order from Towsend!! Am really jelous of people who have got the 'magic' shoe box package, but I just cannot afford to pay the going rate for it!! I really hope that us poorer Manics fans will get the chance to see this DVD that comes with the Super-mega-awesome-deluxe-shoebox-version.

Anyway, I'm off to listen to the album, have managed to wait this long with out hearing any leaks, so am (hopefully) going to enjoy listening to it now!!
