I don't have problem with any Manics' lyrics. It's just like ripples in the fabric of spacetime. They fill the void even if something like "tiny massive hands" or "sad facebooking".

Tiny massive hands, for example, I like. James just sings it with such conviction, and I can - as with many daft manics lyrics - kind of imagine a universe where it is really meaningful. And I'm not even being sarcastic right now.

I dread the day we get a song that goes:

My luck is running out
Slowing to a trickle
Like in Goodfellas
I am in a right pickle

Or

I tried to write a powerful song
the ink leaked and my heart went boom
like hiroshima nagasaki dolls are burning
i see what i did there

I think the type of lyrics that the Manics write will always lead to the odd poor and clunky lyric. I was listening to KYE recently and I'd never noticed how clunky the line "Liberal Asinine Pricks" sounds.

Any Nicky lyric that has "Like a..." at the start.
He's gladly stopped doing this and that's one of the reasons RTF and the new album had in their favour.

A great run of lines from what is arguably the ultimate Wire lyric.

Autumnsong is the worst lyric by a million million miles. Their worst single and most pointless song.
