Saturday at Barrowlands and Friday Manchester gig. Quite painless.

Europa Gluten Free 30-10-2024 10:21

Reading the messages on here, you would think it was Oasis not the Manics! Ha!

Gusto 30-10-2024 10:28

Well that was an ordeal. Both London dates were my priority and I wanted Glasgow as well. You really can't beat the first night of the tour.

Although the Friday standing tickets were available when I added, once I hit proceed it stated they weren't available. Tried Saturday and they weren't available. Then went to ticketmaster for Glasgow tickets are got both nights without any problem.

Refreshed London for the Saturday and suddenly standing tickets were there. Just kept refreshing the Friday page and they became available again. Stress I didn't need.

Between tickets, flight to London and hotel I'm £500 down. Still have Glasgow flight and hotel to pay for as well.

First Glasgow night will be my 50th Manics gig. Only took me 33 years to get here.

rpmacmurphy 30-10-2024 11:38

2nd SBE sorted

Might try for 1st night on general sale

rosetree 30-10-2024 12:16

I tried to get a London concert standing, though hopefully in the general sale friday.

I had to do that a few times too but it worked eventually!

JimmiB 30-10-2024 13:05

Doing both Manchester dates. Was just going to book one night going with a friend, but as we're staying over I thought I might as well hang around for the day and then drive home after the Saturday gig. I did want to do Wolverhampton but just that bit far.

Same here. Managed both nights at the O2 Shepherds Bush but no luck as yet for the Bristol Beacon gig.

Managed to get a ticket for Bristol Beacon.

Really is worth going back in now and again to see if anything pops up.

rpmacmurphy 30-10-2024 20:58

Well I had a great internal debate about waiting until general sale on Friday to punt about for
1st night at SBE but I figured there was no guarantee I could get downstairs standing or indeed any tickets so I took the plunge and bagged ticket on level two balcony

Return of the Mac

If you see a slightly overweight elderly oddball - it will be me

That'll be two of us :lol:

While I lament the demise of the paper tickets as they
made great souvenirs I'm impressed with e tickets going
straight to my see tickets wallet app

Times change I guess

hummingbird 01-11-2024 07:22

Just got a standing ticket for the Saturday from the presale link for shepherds Bush ...looks like they're available for 18th too
Got confirmation email too

Routine Builder 01-11-2024 09:33

Got one for Shepherds Bush and Bristol, just need to find me a marathon.

be_found 01-11-2024 09:46

Due to putting my phone on silent on Weds morning I didn't hear my notification for the pre-sale so missed out. Managed today to snag tickets for London on the Sat but up in level 3. Usually find it a bit easier to get Manics tickets, is the fact that the dates are all weekend ones mean they are more popular than usual? Or are all us Manics fans getting older and prefer seated tickets!

See you there hopefully !!!
Out of curiosity I had a nosey at the general sale and all
tickets for 18th are listed as unavailable, it would seem it was just as well I snapped up my tickets when I did.

Looks like six of the ten dates are sold out already. If you haven't got your tickets yet it might time to get them now...

Son of Stopped 01-11-2024 18:13

Just the deluxe and t-shirt. I only tell which song is playing at the chorus it's gotten that bad.
However I was concerned there was no talk of selling out shows a few days in.

The Crow 02-11-2024 07:10

Well just saw the BBC Live version of the songs and Nicky's vocals still are pretty awful live, they've used vocal correction on the studio version obviously.

I guess we are looking at a 100 min set list, 5/6 songs from the new LP and the rest 95% of the usual singles, that's my prediction.

There'll be the obligatory one surprise song from the back catalogue thrown in... it's become pretty much a tradition since SATT days... Born to End, Sorrow 16, Donkeys, Condemned to Rock n Roll, Natwest..., Horses Under Starlight, Spectators of Suicide, To Repel Ghosts... I wonder what they'll dig up this time round.

rosetree 02-11-2024 22:41

I just got standing for O2 Manchester, i'm looking forward see the band again and hear the new album.

Whisky Psychosis ??

Routine Builder 03-11-2024 11:10

Destroy the Dancefloor surely.

They whipped out Strip it Down for Bath last year, would love to see it on regular rotation. The pre-GT stuff is really bouncy and would add a bit of life to the setlist.

The Crow 03-11-2024 18:48

Nearer the time I'll decide, I've only seem them x2 since 2014, says a lot in terms of the direction of their music/performances and of course the set lists.

All dates sold out! I'm bit concerned it took that long to do. Everything's probably fine.
Have a great one when you do them

Routine Builder 23-11-2024 13:19

Pretty sure neither TUVL or RiF's tour sold out so they are doing well to sell out within a month

There will be spares flying around over the next few months too, their tours haven't needed any rushed panic booking for years.

LA ex 23-11-2024 20:32

I suspect having a schedule where they only play Friday and Saturday nights has helped them sell out quickly.

Marconi Delorian 25-11-2024 09:30

Smaller venues as well.

They're pretty much the same size as those for the initial The Ultra Vivid Lament (and in some cases the actual same venue). My memory may be failing me and it may have been a bit of post-covid uncertainty about everything but I can't remember those selling out anywhere near as fast.

They placed Wembley Arena on TUVL tour - 12,500 capacity (though I'm not sure if the full capacity was used). SBE is 2000, so 4000 for two nights.

Also 13 dates on the initial TUVL tour - 10 dates in 6 venues this time.

JimmiB 28-11-2024 21:15

I was a bit surprised to see they weren't on the line ups for any of Tramlines/Truck/Y Not festivals this week. With the tour sold out I thought they would be doing some of these. The gig at Y Not was cut short last time, but when they did get on they played a turbo charged set. Oh well. I'll have to put up with Reytons on the Saturday at Tramlines, who are inexplicably headlining.

It's frustrating for folks like us that live in Sheffield that they rarely play within a 30 minute drive of here. It's always bloody Leeds, Manchester, York etc

JimmiB 01-12-2024 11:55

I think Sheffield misses out these days for several reasons. One, our venues aren't really good enough - Leadmill is great but small, O2 horrible and only 2k or so, City Hall is all seating, then it jumps to the arena. Two, I think it's easier for bands to play Leeds and Nottingham for which catchments both include Sheffield.

I think it's a real shame that the old John Lewis isn't being knocked down and a proper purpose built venue constructed, one that could host the snooker better but maybe also cater for bands who need 3-4k capacity. From what I know the council didn't want the building to be listed, but they are now hamstrung by that.

Scarecrow 02-12-2024 11:42

I must have had a rare good experience at the O2 Academy, saw them once there and enjoyed it, sound and atmosphere were decent and they were on good form that night.

I'd head over if they decided to play Corp. :D

JimmiB 02-12-2024 20:32

Yeah maybe I've been a bit harsh there. Octagon is ok too, I saw them there in 2007. That was a good night.

Scarecrow 03-12-2024 15:52

I think and FacelessSenseOfVoid here  have a point though, it does seem to get overlooked at times. I used to head to Sheffield for quite a lot of gigs at one point (mid 2000s), but about a decade after that some friends there said it had dried up a lot. Not just gigs but general things to do as well.
