Shame there's no DVD as with all the other re-issues :( £30 is steep, I'll just pop it on my Christmas wish list or wait until it's cheaper.
|
£30 for 3 CDs of mostly-released stuff turned up to 11 by some bloke in thick glasses amongst some dusty old, moth-eaten C90 sh!t found in Wire's shed and padded out by some "live rehearsals"?
Gonna have to think about this carefully. Okay, I don't wanna be negative but "No", "Hell No". |

I really intended to see the Send Away and Resistance tours missed both. I have to go to nearest venue for this tour at least. I intended to buy The Blue Hour but Council Tax hit! So hope to get the CD. I think the second and third disc will get the most played. If the venues are seated then it'll help with getting tired and hopefully won't give that many flashbacks. I can't see them touring this line up by this time 2020 so what the hell? Only question are tickets on sale or Friday? |

Lack of video is a bit disappointing. Imagine if there had been more Chateau De La Rouge Motte videos as on the Millennium DVD! James with a beard and Nicky looking miserable...

They’ve come as close as they possibly can to playing on the cover photo beach, I think, by playing festival no 6...

Super. Nobody Loved You is still remastered. Just what the doctor ordered!
Also, we're getting a remasterd Class Reunion of the Sunset Marquis mix of tolerate! Didn't realise that, but good stuff. That's my fav manics remix and an all around brilliant piece of ambience. |
14. Nobody Loved You (Remastered B Side)
What??? Take it off the album if you must, but don't try to rewrite history and claim it was a b-side all along. |
Ordered. Quite excited to hear the demos and I quite like the 'alternative' new artwork. However I wish this release (and the SATT one) were a bit more consistent with previous releases in terms of packaging. Even calling it the "20 Year Collectors Edition" sounds odd. Also a DVD would of been nice, as I felt the discs included with the 10th Anniversary editions of THB and EMG were fantastic content wise.
And NLY should have been left where it was. Likewise with SATT, despite how much I love the B-sides, sometimes they weren't on the album to begin with for a reason. The only album they should rework is KYE and make it a double album as original intended. Also I kind of hoped that the other Everlasting Deadly Avengers remix from the 12" promo would be included. |
Pretty happy to hear of the tour; not so happy to see NLY's relegation confirmed!
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Edinburgh (Usher Hall), York (Barbican) or Liverpool (Olympia) venues? I might go to London and know Shepherd's Bush Empire well, but, being in Newcastle, am tempted to the other ones - especially York and Edinburgh. Are any of those venues particularly good/not great? |
