Was going to say exactly this. And yep, Rewind The Film was definitely the first to be unveiled.

To be honest, International Blue took me by surprise too, if less of a curveball than the others mentioned.

My first reaction was the intro is Come Back (The Story Of The Reds) by The Mighty Wah!

Also, cannot see the Squeeze link (says 2nd biggest Squeeze fan on the forum, going back to The Rainbow in 1981).

Also trying to work out whether it is a grower.

I played it for a guy at work today who likes a few Manics songs. He said within 20 seconds "this is very poppy for them, I prefer stuff like that Tolerate song" and then sat there saying nothing, and around the two minute mark said "I'm just popping out for a smoke" so I got the hint he wasn't impressed one bit haha. Oh well. It's okay, nothing amazing, but decent enough.

Argh! Tell him he's missed the handover section! It all fits in.

Fantastic news! This is the dawing of the age of the new Manics Street Preachers album.

So.. anybody thinking we'll also get a second song from the album around November/December? My hunch being if two singles out then a third release before actual next album the same week or after.
I haven't been listening to it as often as others. But I really enjoy and get into it when it plays.
I really should get back to listening to radio if they've that exposure.
What would Steve Wright DJ have made of it all?

I have begun to think that we were maybe a little spoiled with that pair of albums, and that perhaps the future will just be subtle variations on a sound. I know TUVL had a few slightly different tracks, but for the most part it was just anthemic major key pop-rock Manics. It was just the one with the piano on. Maybe this will be the one with a few more synths. The next one will be the one with brass on several tracks.

I dunno, I do really want another RtF/Futurology era, my favourite periods for the band are that and EMG to Lifeblood, where they were mixing things up enormously with every album, but I'm gradually coming to terms with the fact that they might not do that again.

Wonder why there is no official music video for the song? Maybe even the band got fed up of having lame low budget artsy fartsy lyric videos made by Kieran Evans haha.

Drum loops from Squeeze's Slap & Tickle after a bit searching:)

We've yet to have the lyric video before the main video.
Primal Scream are uploading new stuff but their footage is just Bobby Gillespie staring into a camera with different colour filters or slowly unzipping his leather jacket. And then staring into camera.
At least the Manics haven't got to that stage in their videos. Even though there'll be footage of the band staring into camera.

I think a video for it might get played tonight at some point during the Be Vigilant… film showing.
Evans said to also…Be prepared on his insta.

Knew the verse reminded me of something.

Step into Christmas. Basically a summer version of it.
