I am surprised that so many people still like it, i think this is the worst Manic album by far. It sounds and feels like the lump of middle age fat that has developed around Bradfields beer belly.

Quite a damning situation when you consider how lean and well toned JFPL sounds.

Are you saying you love me or Mr Edwards?

JFPL and Mr Edwards lyrics.

I've long since given up expecting anything to be as good as the first three albums, but the last three have been as good as they could be. And I can't ask for more. Well done, lids!

They released the album too late. It'd be perfect at the start of summer, not the start of Autumn. It depends on my mood whether I like it or not. But currently loving it!

Definitely a 'blasting from your car at extreme decibels in the sunshine' record! :D

Hello lovers of PFAYM.

I am tiding out the computer room as I submitted my thesis yesterday (yay!).

I found an A4 card that is a copy of Nicky's handwritten lyrics of INWJTEOL.

If anyone wants it then PM me. It's in an unmarked card envelope so no sweat posting it.

Any takers?

GONE!

The Gutless Wonder 15-09-2012 19:37

James' handwriting would have interested me! :p

Actually, James was the one to write the lyrics at the very beginning of the Manics (maybe at the "Betty Blue period"), then later it was something left to Nicky, but soon enough Richey has joined and they started writing together.

Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Yep. I prefer that stage of their career as well. From Suicide Alley to The Holly Bible. But the rest of the albums is, indeed, very nice and interesting.

James wrote Jackboot Johnny and something else I think? As he says he didn't try again for a long while after that! :D

He also wrote Ocean Spray.
