Went back to try and listen to this after being very patient with Futurology, in attempt to find something overall redeeming about it.

Its still a crock of shit, their worst record without a doubt. Hazelton Avenue probably the most offensive song (does sound like an old Lenny Kravitz track) followed by 'The Descent'.

Utter trash, one for fans of The Feeling.

I have a fair bit of fondness for The Future Has Been 4Ever, but I couldn't remember how at least half of the songs sounded like even if my life depended on it.

Yup

I know it aint a popular thing to say but I love the album

Geranium Terrorists 13-07-2014 16:53

If you skip back through the thread everyone's saying how they love it (back in 2010). skip forward and you get everyone hating it. However, some people have stuck with disliking it from the start- Radiomanic, for example, gave it 7/10 back then. and said it was their worst since GT.

hummingbird 13-07-2014 17:01

Yeah me too. I think lots of people do really. Repeated whinging about not liking it doesn't factually make it a worse album, anymore than singing an album's praises over and over factually makes it better either. Horses for courses, YMMV and other popular clichés :)

I like the album, always have done. Love Some Kind of Nothingness.

Littlesue 13-07-2014 17:40

I can listen to the first 3 singles but nothing else, I can only listen to a couple on RTF so these two definately the worst for me. Haven't listened to Futurolgy yet just on the basis of these two albums being poor.

i'm just going to chase you round the forum :p

LISTEN TO IT!

Littlesue 13-07-2014 17:51

Lol, I will eventually. Its really hard to listen to 'new' music when you get old, you just want to wallow in nostalga. I can remember having a go at my Mom about 25 years back (when she would have been my age now) because she kept buying re-hashed copies of 'Leo Sayers greatest hits' and she said she had'nt time or patience to listen to new music and now I'm old I can agree with her:D

i'm the same but i don't count a new manics release as *new* music.. just a new album from a favourite band and i'll always make time for that.. can't be arsed chasing round looking for new bands to like the majority of the time.

I couldn't listen to a greatest hits over and over again tho.. I'd end up hating the songs

That is called the passage of time, if an album gets worse over time for the majority of people it cant be very good can it. It was their worst since GT for me, its now their worst ever. Don't think i gave it 7/10? If i did...wow i don't know what i was thinking!
