Ten albums though, that's quite a lot. This'll be their fourth since the greatest hits, or fifth if you counter in the fact that there was nothing off KYE on FD.

So Why So Sad?

I'm excited. This will be my first time of real excitement right from announcement, album release and then hopefully seeing them on tour.

I can't wait.

This thing about "last mass communication" makes me weep tears of joy from my third eye. The crude one, I mean. It's just, the Manics have so many times been at their best when they've foregone their commercial conciousness, and just run with an idea. I think the band's increasing confidence in trying stuff that breaks the norm is working out really well - just listen to things like Dying Breeds or You Know It's Going To Hurt. It's total love or bleh stuff. No mass market is going to buy a Nicky-sung song or a James instrumental, but if we love it, then ain't that better than an album of Your Love Alone's?

Ah ok right, thanks. I didn't check the tracklist, and tried to run through it off the top of my head. I forgot about that one, was thinking that Found that Soul, Ocean Spray, and Let Robeson Sing weren't on it.

I'm happy to be proved wrong! :)

i'm hoping the last bit of the post card is not as sinister as it sounds (one last shot at mass communication) i'm thinking its something like this being the last album on sony,i'm sure it was mentioned ages ago about them getting their own label

xxx

I'm not sure I want a knitted Nicky Wire...

Dext37 Fielding 01-06-2010 10:24

Well atleast the album will be 'Mass Communication' not 'Mass turbation!'

Silver10 01-06-2010 10:39

Well the title is certainly better than the last one :P
I'm excited.

If they go with the background image on the site and the new typeface for the album cover then I will be pleased.

JPizzle 01-06-2010 10:43

Is the cover going to be the picture that's currently the background on their website? If it is I think it'll be quite good.

haha, I'm the same.

Oh Nick...! 01-06-2010 10:46

Is it just me who thought the title sounded like an ill-advised reference to the Richey mystery? Or the use of his words on Journal?

May be completely wrong, though I think if any press also think that they'll rip 'em apart for it.

I thought the same thing, but maybe the lyrics on the album will explain more.

Pasquerel 01-06-2010 10:50

 This leads us to our next question: Will there be a Richey-penned song (or two) on the album?
I highly doubt it, but if so, only a few lines, phrases, not whole lyrics.
