Child at end of dinner table: But it's always self reflection! You said this for The Ultra Vivid Lament! It's always self reflection! Whenever we go to the shops you keep telling me we have no money, besides we've got self reflection at home!

Seriously though, I'm not expecting back to basics guitars. More what they can do with guitars now sort of album. I was out so catching up on Sounds.

Sounds an awful lot like Know Your Enemy. Sadly we know never to take Wire's descriptions as being anywhere near the truth.

Except the ones about TUVL, which were quite right.

Orchestral album about famous people confirmed, then.

What do we think the chances are of Brett being a guest vocalist on this one?

Long, long overdue this!

Very true ! The most confusing thing about Orwellian was that it actually did sound like the Clash playing Abba

Son of Stopped 25-02-2024 19:02

Cross pollination from the Manics on TV, Radio thread.

They've slowly started work on it. James worries about getting older and repeating himself.
We'll know in six months (From now? So... End of March 2024?)

New album will be out late this year or early next. Working title is ‘Critical Thinking’ and there will be new music this year.

New music! This year! Thanks Lee.
This and Lifeblood would make a blinder of a year. Even if Album 15 not released 2024.
New music apparently is...
I'd dance my socks off over their cast offs any time they reject them!

EDIT: Oh that's a point. Yeah, Orwellian really got dropped from the line since!

slop101 25-02-2024 22:17

I just hope it's not so over-produced like their previous few albums have been.
But I think that's been their mode for long enough now that it may be difficult to put that toothpaste back in the tube.

Routine Builder 25-02-2024 23:27

The type of people that use the term 'critical thinking'... Nicky better not turn all Morrissey on us...

Lee 26-02-2024 09:40

:D

The title is very GB News / Talk Radio isn’t it.

Son of Stopped 26-02-2024 16:51

Go for it! I want to read and hear complaints the Manics have gone woke!
Current wishlist four "singles" videos with the album released after the fourth one.
But it's back to the tour for events first I suppose.

Son of Stopped 26-02-2024 18:17

Then it leaks during that four single policy they'll have already paid for if they did.

counterlanguage 26-02-2024 18:22

Luckily Wire has more self awareness and ability to check himself than Morrissey.

It'd be interesting to see anyone trying 'gone woke' criticism. So many songs in their back catalogue that IS POLITICLE MADNES GONE WRUNG!
