Listened again last night the remaster really is a great one.

Not even joking.
Possibly alternate NLY and SYMM depending on the night/crowd. But I think that would be a smashing set. (And some next level trolling to open with the junked track.) |

Had a similar experience with the SATT anniversary release, as I don't buy singles, disc 2 was like a whole new Manics album for me! |
As expected, the remastered b-sides in the same order they're presented, just with Prologue to History put as track one and the gaps trimmed so they flow better (long gaps on these) is absolutely amazing. The first three are exceptionally dynamic. A stronger beginning to a manics rock album than the 1-2-3 on KYE or RIF in my opinion. Black Holes sounds especially ferocious in this sequencing. Like a Your Love Alone from hell.
1. Prologue To History 2. Montana / Autumn / 78 3. Black Holes For The Young 4. Valley Boy 5. Socialist Serenade 6. Buildings For Dead People 7. Class Reunion Of The Sunset Marquis (David Holmes Tolerate remix, for good measure) I like this so much I started buying the gorgeous physical TIMTTMY singles they're from. Off ebay. |

I'm looking forward to hearing quality versions of Black Holes and the album in general, and of course the demos (live stuff), but will wait for a price drop as I feel bad asking for it even for a Christmas gift from family. I reckon in about Feb it will drop about a tenner. How good the booklet? Any decent stuff in there, a good new write up, pictures? Glossing pages maybe? Any glaring errors?

By the way -- I remember seeing a black-covered fifth single for Black Dog on My Shoulder, with Winston Churchill. It looked really interesting, very alt history. Then I googled for it yesterday and no luck. Was I dreaming? Was it a fan mock-up? Were there plans to release a fifth single -- Black Dog? And most importantly -- does someone have that pic of that single cover? |

Adding some of the press photos to diff tracks on my ipod for this album. Anyone have some cool MSP band photos from period besides the usual you'd see on Google Images from '98/'99?

There was confirmation that Tsunami was the last single because Buildings for Dead People was touted as being a big change of direction and indicative of their next sound. I remember being a bit nonplussed by that at the time as it's just a 'Revolution' knock-off to my ears but in retrospect it does hint at both Rock & Roll Music and Found that Soul. Would guess it was a fan mock up that you saw but happy to be proved wrong. Didn't the Stay Beautiful site used to have 'alternative' artwork mockups or am I thinking of another site ? |
Nice. Thanks for the clarification.

Here’s one for I’m Not Working. https://i363.photobucket.com/albums/...8FD706697.jpeg |
Again I don't if this has been mentioned but the Japanese version has Train in vain as a bonus track.
