Give it a chance. Who knows, you might actually like it!

Well for me THB has not been bettered by any album since. Not by the manics or anyone else. So i would not get too upset about it. That's something to be happy about. Happy that the band managed to have such a high watermark. The Manics have had a better run of quality albums than most other bands of they're generation. We should be greatful they're still around. Even if the new album is not to all of our liking, they will still blow us all away live. So it won't be all bad news.

We already knew it was going to be Queen esque so the information is nothing new. However, it's never very nice to here a band you love compared to The Darkness, of all bands.

At this stage we've all talked so much about the new album and still have heard nothing off it. It's just time to calm down now and wait for a few tracks to hit the radio.

As always, I'll make my own judgement once I've listened to 'Postcards From A Young Man' start to end.

sounds like they've thrown the kitchen sink into this one :)

ive always thought james could mess about with more harmonies .. ive always liked the bridge of 'i live to fall asleep'

im really excited !!!!

This, quite frankly.

There's a breathtaking amount of tossery on this thread.

Well put. I'm trying not to build it up too much in my head as then, inevitably, it will never meet my expectations (my imagination does run away with itself quite a lot) but I am very excited for a new release and tour! :D

I can't wait. I love The Darkness, Queen, Motown, DooWop, and most of all, the Manic Street Preachers.

This :)

When the Darkness came out I saw them as the natural successors to MSP in some ways. There's definitely a clean lineage between Queen, MSP and them.

This.
Again.

YES!!!:P

FacelessSenseOfVoid 08-07-2010 09:48

If it sounds anything like Queen then this'll probably be my favourite Manics album ever!

And I still put the Manics above every other band going. If that means I know nothing about music then I find that pretty easy to live with!

agreed! 100% agreed!

Thanks for that, I'm comforted again, of course it'll be good!

I'm liking the fact that there are strings on at least one of the songs.

BrianPowell 08-07-2010 12:29
