Well, they did have Richie Edwards. XD

I'm going to add my name to the list of optimistic folk. Versatility, along with each album being stylistically radically different to the last is all part of the fun of being a Manics fan. I'm even looking foward to their TV theme tune covers album in 7 years time

This, quite frankly.

There's a breathtaking amount of tossery on this thread.

Every time a Manics release is imminent, there are many hilarious assumptions.

I'm still excited by the album, and the words from the blogger are positive ones at least, and if these big pop songs that are ones that aren't going to be liked too much, I can imagine there will still be songs on the album that most of us will like.

SATT only has a few great songs on it, but I still quite enjoy it - it's just Autumnsong that I find average.

Scoured NME for its weekly Manics reference and I've found a good one. Dan Martin wrote a cloumn about 'protecting and supporting our local venues as they are the source of British music'. He then says:

"There's a song on the new Manics album called 'All We Make Is Entertainment', about how, after the decimation of the mines and the car plants, the only thing this country really manufactures anymore is brilliant music, drama and comedy"

So he's probably heard it and now we know one song subject.

Oh and 'Wire' was one of the crossword answers.

Who is this Abraham Love? How does he get invited to such gatherings? Is he known in music?

Don't include me in this. I love their other nine albums, and I'm gagging for this one.

It's a Manics album, I don't care what it sounds like.

Hello, James. Haven't seen you since that drunken night in the park. Students are such chavs these days. So... Coming to see Manics in October?

I had a dream last night that the bands said the album was "23% away from being finished" as they needed to do backing vocals, mix it more, etc, etc. Also, in this interview the new single was being playedas was the video for it. It had all four members standing next to each other (yeah, Richey was in there strangely) and they were all kind of playing their instruments and jiving around, and Sean occasionally walked up to the camera to hit it with his drum sticks before stepping back into place to dance a bit more haha! He looked like he did in 1993 but had a bit more of a beard going on. James looked like his late 93 period, Nicky looked like he does now and Richey looked like he did in 92. The song was quite poppy from what I remember. Weird stuff. I'd love it if the video was like this, just love it! :P

Yay! Surely that'd have to be announced pretty soonish...although I bet it'll be some kind of XFM/6Music/Q competition winners only thing

I'm highly anticipating the new album. But I hope this album launch gig doesn't defeat the point of me going to the first night on the tour. :P
