So, am I right in assuming that Tower Records is the Manic's "official" shop? I ordered the delux (2 disc) version directly from Tower Records (but not through manics.co.uk) but I'd really like the print mentioned on the Manics site - will I still get one of those?

Is this real? Simon Price just tweeted Oh wow, just got @manicspostcards "It's Not War" with 5 extra tracks that aren't on the album. That's the next half hour sorted out.

MSPKYE 17-08-2010 13:37

probably just the promo of the single

Six tracks, half an hour? In his dreams!

It must just be the single and all the b-sides I guess.

Simon reviews the b-sides on twitter

Those new Manics B-sides, in brief...
about 1 hour ago via web

“I’m Leaving You For Solitude”: very Lennon/Beatles, “Instant Karma” meets “Hey Jude”, and rather good, surprised it didn’t make the album.
44 minutes ago via web

“Distractions”: reminds me of Blur’s “Coffee & TV”, isn’t doing much for me.
44 minutes ago via web

“Ostpolitik”: an instrumental, with touches of U2’s “Unforgettable Fire”, gorgeous.
44 minutes ago via web

“Lost Voices”: standard Beatlesy classic rock, but with some lines that leap out (“There will be no deathbed confessions…”)
43 minutes ago via web

“I Know The Numbers”: James on his own with acoustic guitar. That rare thing, a Manics love song. There you go. Done.

Competition with no prize: Someone else say what I'm thinking.

Manics doing Unforgettable Fire sounds awesome

I heard "It's Not War" playing on the radio in a furniture shop. It was fitting somehow. A Manics single with big strings getting airplay on a radio station that would've played Your Love Alone but no Journal songs, So Why So Sad but not Found That Soul or probably a station that last played their first number 1 single or that certain number 2 single...

the-indy-script 17-08-2010 16:00

Has it been played on Radio 1 yet?

UEF 17-08-2010 16:02

Any dribbles yet?

People don't have to read it if they really think the abum will be ruined because you say you like it or whatever.

To be honest it's less about "ruining" the album for people...which I think is tough to do with words (especially as there have been a few track-by-track guides floating about already). It has more to do with the fact that whenever a person or two has a copy of an album no one else does they come off like total self-righteous pricks when they talk about it...especially on a forum of dedicated fans.
