Yeah, I knew about Jagoda too, but I wasn't completely sure if it really existed, or was it just old fashioned, as you said, or what, so I didn't mention it.
However, it's not like ALL fruit sounds acceptable. For example I wonder who would ever call their kid as Lubenica (watermelon)!
Or Banana, that is a common nickname, but never a name, too funny. But there is a good Japanese writer whose artistic name is Banana Yoshimoto, though.
